Group Coaching Pods for Middle Leaders

Middle leaders play a crucial role in any school but effectively meeting their development needs can often feel challenging. Group coaching allows schools to provide valuable, cost-effective professional development, beyond line management meetings, ensuring that middle leaders feel supported, inspired, and well-equipped to do their job.

Participants will meet in online coaching pods once a term (6 times per year). Here they will have the opportunity to

  • Share and address common middle leadership challenges in a supportive and confidential environment.
  • Share experience and inspiration around anything from managing team members to developing curricula or preparing for Ofsted.
  • Speak openly about wellbeing.
  • Benefit from making connections and collaborating with staff from other schools.
  • Gain an understanding of how group coaching works and how it might benefit their own department, curriculum area or year team.

FAQs

Meetings will take place from 4-5.30 on Monday, Thursday, or Friday, termly, according to the availability of pod members and coach.

There will be 3 members in each pod.

Group coaching will be in the form of action learning sets. In each session, members will bring a challenge or focus to be shared with the group. 30m coaching time will be allowed for each focus with group members and the coach offering observations and asking questions to support an individual’s thinking and allow them to draw their own conclusions and decide upon tangible actions.

No, staff from the same school would be placed in different pods wherever possible.

First pods will run from September 2023.

I am happy to be able to offer an introductory price of £240 per person for schools that sign up by the end of July.  From September the price will be £270 person.
